I am married and have two wonderful kids, my daughter is 16 and my son who just enlisted recently with the Navy is 18. He will be going to BC at the end of the summer. This is all so new to new so I am trying to learn as much as I can and get to know others who will be able to support me and my family during the coming difficult months. We are very proud of our son for signing up and proud to be a premie Navy mom, lol.

P.S. I got that "1 soldier each day" from google.com
If you type in "google gadgets" you can find it. I really thought it was neat because we can see the many faces behind our military and also remember to pray for them!
No problem Mari! I am glad I could do this for everyone, including me. It helps me to pass the time until I can see my son too! I feel like this can in some way help all the family members like us to cope with and to be able to have a sounding board by talking to other families going thru similar things. Please feel free to start discussions you think might help. This site is for you too- you may think of something I don't! :)
Welcome Mari, My 18 yr old son is a DEP recruit with the Navy. He leaves in June for Great Lakes. My advice is to have your son use Navy Knowledge online. It is a great training tool prior to leaving. This site along with others online are great. Have you checked out MyNavyOnline? It is for Navy Active, Retired and Family.
